Verna Maseda

Verna L. Maseda, age 91, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Glenn Mor Nursing Home in Thomasville, Georgia. A graveside service for Mrs. Maseda will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 5, at Union Hill Cemetery in Grady County, Georgia. The Rev. Andrew Donaldson will be officiating. Verna Lee Lashley was born September 13, 1929 in Cairo, Georgia. Her parents, William Lashley and Daisy Mae Monery Lashley, have preceded her in death. She attended Elpino Elementary School and Cairo High School. Most of her adult life she lived in Tampa, Florida. Verna worked as a caterer for Dobbs Catering. They provided the meals for Delta Airlines. Verna loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Verna Maseda will be deeply missed. Mrs. Maseda is survived by her children, Verna Maxine Adkins Davis of Cairo and Oscar Walter Adkins and wife, Diana of Thomasville; brother, Gene Lashley of Cairo; grandchildren, Hollie Adkins, Jessica Adkins, and Walter Darren Maseda; and great grandchildren, Hailey Musall, Nicholas Vassilakos, Kristopher Adkins and Elijah Angelo Adkins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jose Ramon Maseda; and siblings, Gloria Jean Lashley, Inez Lewis, J. P. Lashley, Clifford Lashley, Flossie Tucker, and Gloria Jean Lashley.
