Mrs. Virgilene Bryant Goad, 69, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Wendell Hollingsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Wilkie Stavely, Cal Bryant, Eddie Gordon, Larry Bates, Rudy McKenzie, Kenny Stavely and Lamar Cutts serving as active pallbearers. She was born April 20, 1940 in Climax, GA, the daughter of Augustus Verdery Bryant and Kathleen Poitevint Bryant. She graduated from Climax High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and the Young at Hearts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence G. Goad. Survivors include her daughters, Debra S. Metcalf and her husband Hank of Bainbridge, GA, and Kathy S. Howell of Bainbridge, GA; her son, Bryant Fagan and his wife Tammy of Bainbridge, GA; five grandchildren, Jennifer Davis, Jason Sapp, Katie Ward, Brannon Fagan and Blake Fagan; and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Sapp.
