Virginia Kaye Haste, 59, passed away peacefully at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Wilmington, on June 6, 2016, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on July 31, 1956 in Macon, Georgia, daughter of the late Turner Marcellus Gaughf and Annie Mae Howell Macy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Gaughf, Jean Gaughf, and Susan Gaughf; a brother, Ray Macy; a nephew, Shaun Duke; and a grandson, Wesley Bryant. Surviving are her husband, Leslie Haste, Sr.; children, Leslie Haste, Jr., (Missie), Brad Haste (Stacey), and Brandi Bryant (Dewayne), and Ashleigh Haste; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Jo Macy Duke and husband, Michael Duke of Faceville, Georgia; a brother, Patt Gaughf and wife Judy Gaughf of Monterey, California; seven nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel with visitation immediately following until 8:00 p.m. The Rev.
