William Alan Marshburn, 81, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016.The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery with his grandchildren serving as active pallbearers.The family will receive friends immediately following the service. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and retired from Bainbridge State Hospital. Alan enjoyed working. Most people will remember him at his most recent job as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut. He loved the outdoors and especially working with his chickens and goats. Children always made him smile.Survivors include his children, Frankie Funderburke and her husband, David, Charlie Marshburn and his wife, Nikie, Jamie Marshburn, Jennifer Landrum and her husband, Wally, and Zoe Stewart all of Bainbridge, Stuart Calhoun, Cindy Wimpee and Liz Hawkins of Texas; his nine grandchildren and his two great-grandchildren. Alan was preceded in death by his parents and son, William Alan "Marty" Marshburn, Jr.
