Mr. Walter Wyatt Groves, Sr. passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012, at his home in Spence Community in Grady County. Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Bainbridge. Minister Michael Collins will officiate. Kenneth Groves, Walter (Bubba) Groves, David Brown, Jamie Kennedy, Eddie Teems, and Jr. Teems will serve as pallbearers. Jason Mathews,Larry Plank, Michael Collins and Joe Groves will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Walter Wyatt Groves was born March 13, 1943 in Coolidge, Georgia to James Elzie Groves and Lela Frances Jenkins Groves. He worked as a painter. Mr. Groves loved to coon hunt and fish. He loved to farm, especially raising chickens. Mr. Groves is survived by his children, Walter Groves, Jr. and wife, Holly, Kenneth Groves and wife, Suzanne, Kimberly Collins and husband, Michael, Angela Wetherington, Wanda Groves, Sandy Groves, and Karen Teems; grandchildren, Summer Groves, Ashley Spargo, Amber Halbert, Olivia Groves, Kayla Groves, Kensley Groves, Courtney Groves, Karisma Brown, Terry Wetherington, Marie Wetherington, Mitzie Farmer, Camron Groves, LaShonda Gordon, Donald Walker, Logan Walker, Carline Tart, Megan Vickers, Gage Teems, and Jordan Candelotia; 8 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, James Groves, Beatress Adcock, Alice Denny, Warren Groves, Mitch Groves, Helen Duval and Joe Groves; the mothers of his children, Catherine Groves and Garlan Webb. He was preceded in death by parents and brother, Isaac Groves.
