Wayne Whiddon

Pastor Wayne Whiddon, 52, of Climax, GA, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Climax Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Weaver, Pastor Stanley Phillips, and Pastor Steve Poppell officiating. Active pallbearers will be Chad Whiddon, Tate Griffin, Kyle Riche`, Paul Riche`, Vincent Riche`, Keith Harrison, Bradley Harrison, Anthony Harrison, Randel Logue, Wayne Blanton, Ray Pearson, Roger Nix, Micheal Blanton, and Evan Shockley. Honorary pallbearers will be the elders of Climax Baptist Church and Pine Forest Baptist Church in Ochlocknee, GA. The graveside service will held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Lake Bird United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lake Bird, FL with Pastor Stan Godwin officiating. He was a graduate of Taylor County High School, Class of 1976. Mr. Whiddon was a retired process development technician for BASF and served as a pastor for over 10 years. He was a member of Climax Baptist Church. Mr. Whiddon was preceded in death by his mother, Lida Collins Whiddon. Survivors include his wife of thirty-three years, June Blanton Whiddon of Climax, GA; his daughter, Tonya Whiddon Riche` and her husband Vincent of Bainbridge, GA; his son, Chad Whiddon and his wife Tiffany of Climax, GA; his six grandchildren, Paul Riche`, Kyle Riche`, Tate Griffin, Payton Griffin, Scott Riche` and Lidabeth June Whiddon; his father, T. Wayne "Buddy" Whiddon and his wife Lavern of Climax, GA; and his sister, Suzanne Harrison and her husband Keith of Climax, GA.
