Wendell L. Lambert, 64, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at Grady General Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynn Hurley, Rev. Wayne McDonald and Rev. Charlie Boyd officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home. Mr. Lambert was born May 12, 1950 in Cairo, GA, the son of Lucian Leslie Lambert and Mary Ellen Watts Lambert. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1968 and a member of Climax United Methodist Church. Mr. Lambert loved to fly fish and hunt quail and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He worked with his family in the timber harvest industry, worked with the Decatur County Sheriffs Office and for the Federal State Inspection Service. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Lenell G. Lambert of Bainbridge, GA; his children, Rodney Lambert and his wife, Tina, of Bainbridge, GA and Derrick Lambert and his wife Tonya, of Climax, GA; his grandchildren, Daryn Eve, Cody Hunter and Alec Steven; his siblings, Danny Lambert, and his wife, Missy, of Climax, GA, Ted Lambert of Whigham, GA, Freddie Lambert and his wife, Heidi, of Climax, GA, Tim Lambert and his wife, Cindy, of Statesboro, GA, Karen Boyd of Dublin, GA and Ben Lambert and his wife, Peggy, of Climax, GA; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Lambert was preceded in death by his parents.
