We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Weyman Kermitt Swicord, aged 71. Mr. Swicord died Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Archbold Medical - Grady County. Services for Mr. Swicord will be held Sunday, January 11, at 1:30 p.m., in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. David Grubbs will officiate. The interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 12:30 pm.

Weyman Kermitt Swicord was born April 19, 1954, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to James Willis Swicord and Eris Jones Swicord. He grew up in Climax, Georgia. After high school he joined the United States Army where he served honorably. Kermitt shared his life with his dear wife, Gloria Enfinger Swicord. He and Gloria were together 26 years before she preceded him in death on February 5, 2016. Kermitt enjoyed watching Westerns and the Andy Griffith Show. He loved going shopping, especially Wal-Mart, attending church, and eating out, mostly hamburgers. He had excellent caregivers, led by Naomi Clayton. The family offers special thanks and much love to each of those ladies. Kermitt will be deeply missed by his family and his many, many friends.

Weyman Kermitt Swicord is survived by his daughter, Audrey Lynn Swicord of Butte, Montana, siblings, Jackie M. Thomas of Climax, Georgia and Phoebe Elaine Brock (Ronald) of Sylvester, Georgia; grandchildren, Paige Bartholomeus and Colton Doto; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Andrea Marie Bartholomeus; and brothers, Lamar Swicord and Willis Carroll Swicord.
