Willa Dean Cox, age 76, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the First Assembly of God Church, 495 12th Avenue N.E., Cairo, Georgia. Rev. Travis Harrison will officiate.
Willa Dean Chason was born October 11, 1948, to Ollin Lee (Jake) Chason and Laura Bell Gunn Chason. Willa Dean lived in Sardis, Mississippi for 20 years and moved to Cairo, Georgia in 1998. Dean started a cleaning business and then worked as a seamstress for Ithaca. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and loved her church. She married Leon Foster Cox, who preceded her in death. Dean loved to go to yard sales and being on the water. She adored her grandchildren and loved going to see them. Her family was a tremendous source of pride. She was always there to help any family member in time of need. Her wonderful smile and loving nature will be deeply missed by her family and many, many friends.
Willa Dean Cox is survived by her children, Robert Ronald Pollock, Jr. (Dana) of Sardis, MS, Tammy Marie Pollock Wimberly of Cairo, Jessie Eugene Glover (Lilly) of Sardis, and James Bernard Clayton of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; siblings, Ronnie Chason (Bobbie), Jimmy Chason, Roger Chason, Kent Chason, all of Cairo and Geneva Yotas of Gulf Port, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sweet cats, Tiger Lily and Rosie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son James Russell Pollock, and 6 siblings.
