Mr. Willard Allen Sholar, age 82, of Climax, Georgia, passed away very early Sunday morning, November 16, 2025, at Archbold Living in Cairo, Georgia. Services will be held Wednesday, November 19, 11:00 am, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. James Ausburn will officiate. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 10:00. The service will conclude in the chapel. Mr. Sholar will be privately interred in Oak City Cemetery.

Willard Allen Sholar was born August 10, 1943, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Jodie Allen Sholar and Francis Ola Clinton Sholar. He grew up in Hollywood, Florida. Willard worked in construction for 60 years. He loved the work and did a fine job. Willard was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Whigham, Georgia.

Willard Sholar was preceded in death by his parents, Jodie Allen Sholar and Francis Ola Clinton Sholar; his siblings, Willie Hudson, Thomas Sholar, Morris Sholar, Bernice Anderson, and Jennell Sholar; and his best friend and companion for 32 years, Janie Brown. He is survived by his sisters, Julie (Doug) Bedell of Ft. Myers, Florida, Sarah Bearden (Terry) of Ocala, Florida, and Mary Ann Sholar of Climax, Georgia, and a host of nieces and nephews.
