William Baker

William E. "Bill" Baker, 82, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, GA. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Dr. Jack Piland officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Melvin Kennedy, Scott Kennedy, Thomas Davis, Joshua Guzman, Jordon Guzman, David Vaughn, and Steve Daddio serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Baker was born December 17, 1926 in Cobb County, GA, the son of Daniel Edmond Baker and Julia Pope Baker. He graduated from Alabama School For The Blind, was a retired broom winder for Georgia Industries for The Blind, and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and Woodman of the World. He was preceded in death by his wife Eva Ruth Hinton Baker and his son, William E. Baker, Jr. Survivors include three daughters, Joy B. Davis and her husband Thomas of Bainbridge, GA, Edna R. Kennedy and her husband Melvin of Spring Hill, FL and Julie Marie Guzman of Brinson, GA; his brother, John D. Baker of Milledgeville, GA; his sister, Dollie Austin of Macon, GA; six grandchildren, Sybil Jane Kennedy Daddio of Brooksville, FL, Scott Wayne Kennedy of Spring Hill, FL, William Antonio Guzman, Joshua Austin Guzman and Jordon Aason Guzman all of Brinson, GA, and Patricia Oswald of Bainbridge, GA; four great-grandchildren, Anthony Ryan Daddio of Brooksville, FL, Camryn Kennedy and Kaitlyn Kennedy both of Spring Hill, FL, and Toby Preston of Bainbridge, GA and his fiancée Vera Meyers of Donalsonville, GA, and her children and grandchildren.
