William Cooke

Mr. William T. Cooke, 76, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Bainbridge Health Care. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Cooke was born September 12, 1930, in Bainbridge, GA, to the late Floyd Cooke and Zoie Catledge Cooke. He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1948 and was a member of First Baptist Church. He owned and operated William's House of Flowers for 45 years, was past president of the Georgia Florist Association, past president ot Southwest Georgia Florist Club, and recipient of the Georgia Designer of the Year Award. He was preceded in death by his son, William T. (Bill) Cooke, Jr., and a brother, Floyd Cooke, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Tommie Reece Cooke of Bainbridge, GA; two sisters, Julia Cooke of Bainbridge, GA and Sandra C. Smith of Riverdale, GA; and a sister-in-law, Zackie Reece Beavers and husband Wayne of Talking Rock, GA.
