Graveside funeral services for Mr. William E. Meredith, SR. age 82 of Bainbridge, GA, will be held Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Allen Ware officiating. Interment will be at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Brandon Meredith, Justin Meredith, Wayne Sykes, Meredith Avery, Larry Avery and Scott Connell serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation will be Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Cox - Ware Funeral Home. Mr. Meredith was born February 14, 1927 in Bainbridge, GA the son of the now late William Joseph and Sally Chason Meredith. He later married Mary Frances Sykes. He was of the Baptist faith, was a machinist for Miller Hydro and was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He loved the outdoors and was a member of the VFW Post 4904. Mr. Meredith passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Memorial Manor. He is survived by two sons William E. Meredith, Jr and wife Wanda and Homer E. Meredith all of Bainbridge, GA; four grandchildren Brandon Meredith, Justin Meredith, Wendy Kurz and Misty Hays; three great grandchildren Elise Kurz, Jonathan Hays and Paige Hays. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Frances Meredith in 1996 and daughter Fran Meredith Culp in 1996.
