Curtis Malone, 54, of Bainbridge, GA passed away Monday, April 29, 2013. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Mosley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the faculty and students of Darton State College Respiratory Care Department. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Memorials may be made to the Darton Foundation, Curtis Malone Scholarship, 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Curtis was born May 17, 1958 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Thomas Steele Malone and Peggy Ponder Malone. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1976, and received his bachelors degree from Valdosta State College. He earned his degree in Respiratory Therapy from Darton State College. He was the clinical director for the Respiratory Therapy program at Darton State College. Curtis loved music and played in local bands for over 40 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Debra Smallwood Malone of Bainbridge, GA; his son, William C. "Will" Malone, Jr. and his wife, Rebekah, of Toledo, OH; his daughter, Lindsay M. Llambes and her husband, Gavin, of McDonough, GA; his parents, Steele and Kathy Malone of Bainbridge, GA; his sisters, Dianne M. Lane and her husband, Lanier, of Bainbridge, GA and Kay Sheridan of Havana, FL; his brothers, Tommy Malone and his wife, Alice, of Havana, FL and Wes Mayfield and his wife, Genia, of Tallahassee, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
