William Randall Sellars, 65, of Climax, GA, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Maranatha Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Burrell, Rev. Carl Harrell, and Rev. Scott Lord officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Brandon Velez-Rivera, Jason Velez-Rivera, Chad Leverette, Billy Leverette, Christopher Sellars, Daniel Fewell, Chip Nix, Adam Roberts, Cal Bryant, and Jim Jeter. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the members of Maranatha Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to Maranatha Baptist Church 3416 Thomasville Rd., Climax, GA 39834. Mr. Sellars was born November 9, 1948 in Bainbridge, GA. He was a graduate of Climax High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army and was awarded a Purple Heart for being wounded in action. Randall retired with 33 years of service with BellSouth as a lineman and a training supervisor. Randall also enjoyed several years as Maintenance Supervisor at the Decatur County Jail and Sheriff's Office. Randall was a very active member of Maranatha Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, church, his grandchildren, and southern gospel music. His friends and family will always remember the phone calls, constant care giving, his laughter, his love to be a witness for Christ and those big old bear hugs. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Sellars of Climax, GA; his children, Kristy S. Harrison and her husband, Stanley, of Bainbridge, GA, Michelle S. Donalson and her husband, Jay, of Bainbridge, and Sherri S. Roberts and her husband, Daniel, of Richlands, NC; his mother, Christine Sellars of Climax, GA; his siblings, Joyce Baskin of Largo, Fl, Stanley Sellers and his wife, Vicki, of Bainbridge, GA, Deborah Velez-Rivera and her husband, Bob, of Climax, GA, Greg Sellars and his wife Lynda of Bainbridge, GA and his grandchildren, Maegan, McKenzie, Arin, Dylan, Matthew, Lauran, Mason, and Grayson. He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Sellars; and his sister, Brenda Sellars.
