\\Mr. William (Billy) Clarence Sloan, Jr., age 65, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013, at his home in Climax, Georgia. Services for Mr. Sloan will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, at the Climax United Methodist Church. The Rev. Steve Poppell and the Rev. Lynn Hurley will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Don Cofty, Larry Wells, Butch Mosely, Wiley Griffin, Gary King and Gene Powell will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. William Clarence Sloan, Jr. was born February 5, 1948, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to William Clarence Sloan and Marguerite Lawson Sloan. Billy graduated from Climax High School in 1966. He loved all sports. Billy worked as a fireman. He was a member of the Climax United Methodist Church. Billy's passion was fishing; especially in Lake Talquin. He truly loved his family and was a loyal friend. Billy Sloan will be sorely missed by the many friends he loved so much. Billy Sloan is survived by his aunt, Virginia L. Johnson of Lyons, Georgia and numerous cousins. The family wants to thank the kind and loving caregiver of Billy and his mother, Emma Lee Douglas. Billy Sloan leaves behind his faithful companion, Lulu. He was preceded in death by his father and his mother. \\
