William F. Terry, 89, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Archbold Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Warren Fox officiating and will conclude in the chapel. Interment will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Lee Thomas. Searcy Crawford, Ricky Inlow, Steve Dunn, Keith Shadix, Frank Geslak, Randy Daniel, Jay Wells, Clayton Terry, and Victor Poole serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class of Morningside Baptist Church and all the Morningside Baptist Church members. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Memorial donations may be made to Morningside Baptist Church's Music Ministry or building fund, 1303 Vada Rd, Bainbridge, GA 39817. Mr. Terry was born March 15, 1925 in Abbeville, AL, the son of the late William Francis Terry, Sr. and Mattie Frances Johnston Terry and lived the majority of his life in Moundville, AL. He was a graduate of Hale County High School, Class of 1943 and worked as an accountant and bookkeeper. Mr. Terry was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. Mr. Terry was a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church; he supported and loved the people of Morningside. His legacy was his love for God, his family, and his church. He always had a desire to see people develop their skills and talents to honor God, and was an encouragement to many people throughout his life to always work hard and give your best effort in everything you do. Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Terry of Bainbridge, GA; his son Randall S. Terry and his wife, Carolyn, of Bainbridge, GA; his siblings, Elizabeth Bearden of Ft. Worth, TX, Evelyn Davis and her husband, Edgar, of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Rev. J. Thomas Terry and his wife, Ann, of Moundville, AL; his grandson, Clayton A. Terry of Bainbridge, GA; many nieces and nephews; and many friends and family members of Moundville Baptist Church, Big Sandy Baptist Church, and Morningside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his son, William Eugene Terry.
