Willie Faye Cowart, 63, of Thomasville, GA, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Archbold Medical Center. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buford Groves officiating. Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery. Mrs. Cowart was born March 7, 1950 in Pearson, GA, the daughter of Larkin Benjamin Welch and Willie Mae Maulden Welch. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her daughters, Lynn Groves of Thomasville, GA, Laura Faye Hernandez of Cairo, GA, and Virginia Ann Cowart of Moultrie, GA; her son, Claude Nelson Cowart, Jr.; her brother, Johnny Welch of Nashville, GA; her sisters, Marie Welch of Bainbridge, GA and Nancy Sheriff of Calhoun, GA; her 10 grandchildren; her 28 great-grandchildren; a special granddaughter, Iva Groves; and a special niece, Lainey Busby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude N. Cowart.
