Willie Mae Pettis Hobbs, 91, of Attapulgus, GA, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Attapulgus Church of God with Rev. Joseph Crews, Rev. Dennis Johnson and Rev. Glenn Ring officiating. Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery with Dean Goff, Chris Goff, Rick Spooner, John Mclendon, Keith Lafferty and Kyle Singletary serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Hobbs was born October 20, 1918 in Graceville, FL, the daughter of Walter C. Pettis and Janey Golden Pettis. She married John H. Hobbs on September 18, 1941 and they moved to Attapulgus, GA in 1958. Mrs. Hobbs was a member of Attapulgus Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 21, 2002. Survivors include two sons, Ken Hobbs and his wife Laura of Griffin, GA and Gary Hobbs and his wife Sarah of Donalsonville, GA; two daughters, Janey Williams of Attapulgus, GA and Janet Patterson and her husband Tony of Bristol, FL; six grandchildren, Kim Spooner, Deidre Cain, Christie Griner, Kyle Singletary, Kimberly Ashley, and Jamie Patterson; seventeen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
