Willie Worthington

Willie B. Worthington, 92, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2010 at Oak City Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Worthington was born September 24, 1918 in Brinson, GA, the son of William Thomas Worthington and Waver Josey Worthington. He retired from the U. S. Air Force and was a veteran of World War II, during his service he was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps Skeet Shooting Team. Mr. Worthington also was a retired clerk with the U. S. Postal Service with over twenty years of service. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and Orion Lodge #8 F. & A. M. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Frances Louise Kain Worthington; and his six siblings. Survivors include his daughter, Beverly Worthington-Archer and her husband Robert of Nova, OH; his grandchildren, Brad W. Henry and his wife Sarah of Dublin, OH and Lauren Harrell and her husband Mark of Bainbridge, GA; and several great-grandchildren.
