Zoie Wright

Zoie Merritt Wright, 83, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Riverside Place. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Merritt and Rev. Danny Brewer officiating. Interment will follow at Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery with David Weathersby, Brandon Wright, Jared Wright, Donnie Lee, Dustin Merritt, Jeremy Stewart, Jerry Henry, and Nicholas Weathersby serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Wright was born October 7, 1928 in Miller County, GA, the daughter of Bert Lorenzo Merritt and Katie Cleveland Merritt. She was a graduate of Early County High School and retired from ITT Electrical with 25 years of service. She was a member of Black Jack Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Survivors include her son, Howard Keith Wright and his wife, Cindy, of Theodore, AL; her daughter, Sonya W. Weathersby and her husband, Jeff, of Bainbridge, GA; her grandchildren, Brandon Wright, Jared Wright, Haley Stewart, David Weathersby, and Myranda Weathersby; and her great-granddaughter, Stella Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer H. Wright, Jr.
